The Stories I've Been Trusted to Tell

For almost two decades, I've been the trusted pen behind more than 100 memoirs from some genuinely remarkable lives including Home From War, the memoir that carried HRH Prince William's foreword in 2009.

The roster since has included entrepreneurs, decorated servicemen, a TEDx speaker, and public figures whose names, companies and products you would recognise.

I worked with Stephen Jon Thompson, a TEDx speaker, on his memoir Hotel Goodbyes, published by Forbes. Abandoned in a hotel by his mother as a child, Stephen has built a career at the very top of Silicon Valley, holding senior talent and leadership roles at Google, Apple, LinkedIn, Amazon, and Nike.

I worked closely with Hana Ali, daughter of Muhammad Ali, on the most difficult chapters of At Home With Muhammad Ali: A Memoir of Love, Loss and Forgiveness.

Marnie and her books

I ghostwrote Nicolas Bolt's family memoir A Bit of a Stir, tracing the story of The Wooden Spoon, the jam brand built by his family which went on to be sold in Fortnum & Mason, Waitrose and Hever Castle.

And Muquim Ahmed, a British Bangladeshi entrepreneur and London's first Brick Lane millionaire, has been a client and retreat guest.

On stage at literary festivals, I've interviewed Terry Waite CBE, hosted potter Keith Brymer-Jones from The Great British Throwdown, as well as Michael Fuller QPM, Britain's first Black chief constable, about his memoir Kill The Black One First and Vanessa Nicholson, memoirist and granddaughter of Vita Sackville-West.

Marnie Hiding

Most of my clients sign confidentiality agreements before we begin, so there's a great deal I can't share. But even what I can tell you gives a flavour of the calibre of story I'm trusted with:

  • An OBE-honoured children's rights advocate and former charity CEO
  • A social entrepreneur whose award-winning invention has reached households across the world and been showcased on the Davos stage
  • A hostage negotiator whose career took him into some of the world's most dangerous rooms
  • A round-the-world yacht racer, writing the memoir of a life spent at sea
  • A sauce entrepreneur who built a multi-million globally recognised brand from nothing
  • A former close-protection officer who once guarded a British Prime Minister
  • An LA advertising executive whose memoir is now being published by a major London house
  • A tech founder and published author, and a string of Royal Engineers, soldiers and Royal Marines whose service stories I've had the honour of helping tell.

Between them, these authors' books carry hundreds of five-star reviews on Amazon.
