Every author comes to me at a different stage. Some know exactly what they want, others just know they have a story and no plan. Wherever you're starting from, this is how I work.
I'll interview you in depth, then write your manuscript in your voice. You'll review every chapter, so nothing goes to print without your say-so. It will be beautifully edited once it's finished, and unlike many other ghostwriters and editors out there, I don't limit you to two sets of edits.
Whether your book remains as a private legacy memoir for your family, or you want guidance toward a wider readership or publication, the process and the care are the same. An NDA is standard practice throughout, and I'm happy to travel to you for our conversations if that's easier.
Already Written Your Own Draft?
Not everyone needs a ghostwriter. Some people have already done the hard work of getting their story onto the page themselves, and just need an expert eye on it. If that's you, I offer professional editing: a thorough, sensitive edit that looks at the essential elements of memoir, including structure, pace and voice while keeping the manuscript unmistakably yours, plus guidance on next steps once it's ready.
Not Sure If It's Ready — or Even Any Good?
If you'd like an honest opinion before committing to a full edit or rewrite, I offer manuscript assessments: a detailed report on what's working, what isn't, and what I'd recommend doing next - whether that's a light polish, a substantial edit, or starting again with a clearer structure in mind.
Short On Time But Travelling Somewhere?
For clients who are short on time at home but are travelling for work or pleasure, it's worth knowing that I can travel with you. Maybe we could get together between meetings. Or we could get up before the rest of your family and meet for an hour or so in whatever corner of the world you've chosen to unwind in, and simply talk. No laptops, no pressure, just conversation. And by the end of seven mornings, I'll have close to 40,000 words recorded: not a polished manuscript yet, but a genuine, substantial starting point that has barely interrupted your plans. From there, I take those recordings away and begin shaping them into your memoir, exactly as with any other project. This is ideal if you've been meaning to start writing your memoir for years but can never find the time at home to commit to it.
